The Canon AE-1 Program is a popular 35mm SLR camera, great for anyone who is just getting into film photography or a seasoned photographer looking for a classic camera.  It has an electronically-controlled focal-plane shutter and automatic exposure. 

There is another version of this camera just called the AE-1.  The "Program" in the AE-1 Program's name denotes the addition of full program exposure, borrowed from the A-1 (yet another different model), which selects both aperture and shutter speed automatically and does not require the photographer to make a selection if they do not want to.  On both the AE-1 (which has a priority mode AE) and the AE-1 Program, you can still manually override the settings to shoot in manual.
